Field Day 2025

What is Field Day?

Field day has been used by NLARC primarily as an emergency communications exercise. We put up antennas, set up emergency power and get radios on the air to make contacts all over the globe. More than 30,000 Hams participate each year. This year we are inviting the public to view our operation and hopefully become interested in the hobby.

Location

This years activities will take place at 26007 Gibbs Rd, Grand Rapids, MN., 55744.

Date & Time

The dates of field day are June 28-29. We generally start setting up at 09:00 Saturday morning allowing us enough time to get radios operational by 1:00 PM. We can continue to operate until 4:00 PM Sunday though our club usually starts to dismantle earlier than that.

Meeting & Picnic

The club has a picnic starting around 5:00 PM Saturday followed by the July meeting. Those attending the picnic are asked to bring a dish to pass. the club provided hot dogs, brats, buns, condiments and an assortment of beverages. The July meeting follows the picnic.
